G Star Jeans The G-Star Raw brand was launched in 1989 within the Dutch town of Amsterdam. They were originally referred to as Gap Star but changed their name soon after launch because they believed it were built with a more international feel. In 1996 G-Star launched their Raw denim concept to critical acclaim. The idea behind the line was simple yet ground breaking, they died the denim cotton as normal during the manufacturing process, however sold they while they were rather than treating them preserving agents. This resulted in upon washing they consumers would see the colour change and the jeans shrink, they created the name Raw as the jeans were essentially raw untreated products.
The brand is revolutionary using its jeans collection and uses stitching, extra pockets and buttons to offer each style an extremely unique look, a number of other denim brands have tried to copy their styles but have not come near the originality and focus of G-Star jeans.
Their range of jeans is vast with every cut and colouring available plus they use organically produced cotton to create a new selection of jeans. Many pairs with the their jeans feature the 96 logo, that can take its name in the year they launched the Raw range that they are famous.
G-Star produce both menswear and ladies wear collections and many recently have created a type of clothing for children. Their three flagship stores can be found in New York, Australia and their country of foundation The Netherlands.
